2010 Mentor of the Year
Nomination deadline-01/15/10

Mentors usually give of themselves unselfishly with no expectation of recognition.  However, “Mentor of the Year Nomination” provides an excellent opportunity for a site that has been mentored to show appreciation and acknowledgement of mentoring assistance.
Ø Three ‘Outstanding Mentors’ and a ’Mentor of the
Year’will be recognized at the 2010 Region IV
    VPPPA Conference.
Ø This recognition will be for mentoring that

Continuing Education CM Points

The VPPPA Region IV 2008 Annual Conference was approved by American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) for the accumulation of "points" toward the total required every five years for Certification Maintenance for CIHs/CAIH and Safety Professional certifications.  The ABIH approved point accumulation of up to 1.5 points total for Conference Attendance (1.0 points) and participation in either one of the pre-conference workshops (.5 points.) SSQ Workshop and VPP Application Workshop.

A number of 2008 Region IV Conference Attendees utilized their VPPPA Annual Conference attendance for CM Point accumulation.  The ABIH approval is specific for a particular conference.  We anticipate continued approval of Continuing Education Points for all future conferences and upon ABIH approval; we will make notification via the website and the VPPP Newsletter.
